WELCOME

You have discovered our small family farm web-site. This site focuses mainly on information about our Summer Learning Program, with sections for the public and others for people who have attended the Program. There are also private sections for family members and close friends who log in. We hope you find the information here useful and inspiring.

For those of you who are interested in Reina's vision of how to create a sustainable world, I have distilled it down to six points.

The Elderfield Farm Hands-on Learning Program is a four day introduction to basic small-scale farming skills: gardening, animal husbandry, food processing, living without electricity, knots, fire safety, spinning and weaving, and sustainable living in harmony with seasonal cycles. There will be three days of intensive learning and a final "free day" for participants to share their knowledge of the farm with their families.

Program dates for 2008 will be:

  • July 8, 9, 10, 11
  • July 21, 22, 23, 24
  • August 12, 13, 14, 15
  • August 26, 27, 28, 29

Days start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m. with a half-hour lunch break.

The Old-Time Farm has now become a part of history. September 2, 2007 was the final day of the living-history visiting farm. Over the years, the Old-Time Farm has made many friends and introduced many people to the wonders of farm life of the by-gone era.

Thank you for your interest.
